If you install or use ViconNet systems, you already know why ViconNet is considered the security industry's premier digital video management system. But are you making full use of all that this powerful platform has to offer? For a nominal fee of $200, you can attend the ViconNet training Course designed to provide you with a full appreciation of ViconNet's many features and components and teach you how to manipulate them to best serve your own or your customers' needs. Please note that testing for ViconNet certification will occur at the conclusion of the second day of class. Participation in Day 3 is optional, during which instruction will cover the  Virtual Matrix Display Controller and other advanced topics relating to ViconNet. There is no additional fee for participating in the third day of class. Only classes offered at the Hauppauge Headquarters include an optional third day of training.

With your own personal workstation assigned to you for the duration of the course, the series of learning modules will provide hours of hands-on training with emphasis on how to integrate and use IP components within a modern, network-based, open-platform ViconNet system. You'll also hear about exciting integration opportunities to create complete security solutions with Vicon SMS, Vicon's access control management system, and how to use the power of built-in video analytics to add efficiency and value to your system.

Specific topics and components that will be covered include:

  • Setting and using ViconNet NVRs, workstations and Kollector hybrid DVRs
  • Adding analog, IP and megapixel cameras to your network
  • Controlling PTZ and fixed cameras to view live and recorded video
  • Creating a virtual matrix display
  • Decoding ViconNet video for viewing on standard and HD monitors
  • How to use many of Vicon's powerful features, including how to create macro

Prior to attending class, participants are expected to review introductory materials that are available for download. It is important that all participants are familiar with the product information and networking concepts addressed in these documents.

Vicon provides daily continental breakfast and lunch to training attendees. Those attending our class in New York will have the opportunity to personally interact with our Executive, Sales and Technical staff.

Course Outline:

Day 1: Review of the ViconNet system, its features and functions

  • Discussion of stand-along DVR and hybrid DVR/hybrid IP systems
  • Discussion of NVR-based systems.

Day 2: Continued review of ViconNet features and functions

  • Hands-on training with exercises designed to help you understand the power of the system
  • Demonstration of how ViconNet supports IP and hybrid systems

Day 3: ATTENDANCE OPTIONAL - CLASS IS ONLY 1/2 DAY: The Virtual Matrix Display Controller and other advanced topics relating to ViconNet.

Who Should Attend?

This class is designed for those people who are designing or using the system. Anyone who will be creating the network architecture, installing, setting up, programming or using a ViconNet system should consider attending. This includes:

  • Installing Dealers (Technicians, System Designers, Support Personnel)
  • Architects and Engineers
  • End Users (IT Managers, Security Managers and Administrators, Security Operators)

Class Times:

Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. the first two days, early afternoon on the third day. Actual conclusion time may vary based on Q&A and testing. You must attend each full day of class in order to receive certification.

Q: Can more than one person from my company attend?
A: Yes. You may send as many people as you wish, as long as there are still enough seats to accommodate your party.

Q: How much does training cost?
A: The cost is $200 per person. In addition, you are responsible for your own transportation and lodging.

Q: How is transportation handled?
A: You are responsible for booking your own travel arrangements. If you are traveling from out of town, please plan on arriving in the city where the class is held no later that the night prior to the first day of class. The third day of class ends by 2:00 p.m., so schedule your afternoon flight home accordingly. If you are participating in only two days of classes, do not plan on leaving the class until 5:00 p.m. Certificates will not be awarded to participants who leave early.

If you are attending class in New York and stay at the Hampton Inn, a free shuttle service is provided between the hotel and our offices.

Q: What about meals?
A: We provide continental breakfast and lunch each day, as well as coffee, sodas and snacks.

Q: Do I get to keep the materials?
A: Absolutely yes! We want you to keep them use them for future reference.

Q: Do I receive a certificate at the end of the course?
A: All attendees who attend all three days of training and pass a short exam at the completion of the course will receive a certificate.

Q: How do I register?

Q: How do I make a payment? Is the fee refundable if I cancel?
A: After you register online, you will receive a phone call or email from our training coordinator, Christine Stone. She will assist you in making payment and discuss various options. We will be happy to refund you registration fee, in full, if you need to cancel at least two full business days or more before the start of class.

Lodging and Transportation:

For classes in New York, we recommend the Hampton Inn, Commack, which is close to Vicon headquarters and provides free shuttle service. For classes held in other cities, Christine Stone will suggest an affordable and conveniently located hotel when she contacts you to arrange payment.
